The Superior Tactics' headquarters is based in Fairfield County, Connecticut and is just 25 miles from Manhattan, NYC. We have agents based in Florida, South Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut and New York. Our select staff members have the ability to speak Spanish, Italian, French, French Creole, Portuguese, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Korean, German, Greek, Japanese, Afrikaans (Western Dutch), Hungarian and certain dialects of Chinese.
Frank Reda, is a 24 year active Law Enforcement veteran who served as the Commanding Officer of his department's canine unit and member of their elite Emergency Services Unit Tactical response team. Mr. Reda has been an active Police canine handler for more than 21 years handling both a dual purpose patrol and narcotics detection canine and a single purpose explosives detection canine and has thousands of real world deployments and seizures that have accumulated millions in assets forfeiture.
Mr. Reda spearheads the operations at Superior Tactics and has pioneered industry leading training programs and techniques that are used by the municipal, state, and federal agencies worldwide.
In 1989, Mr. Reda began breeding and training canines for civilian clients. Mr. Reda specialized and competed with Working dogs achieving hundreds of victories,even achieving several Tri State and National champions in Working events. In 1993, Mr. Reda began a full time career in Law Enforcement with the Norwalk Police Department in Connecticut achieving the prestigious Tuscowski award for overall excellence upon graduating the Police Academy. His passion and work ethic was immediately recognized and he was brought on to assist in training within the departments K9 Unit. By 1996, he began training several other Department K9 Units and became a full-time Police canine handler within his Department with his first Police Service Dog.
Throughout his career in Law Enforcement, Mr. Reda has handled five police service dogs, all of which have been trained by him and have served in the fields of narcotic detection, explosive detection, Patrol, tracking, and SWAT integration. During his tenure, he has been recognized in the Federal Judicial system as an Expert in Narcotic Detection and currently serves as a subject matter expert and trusted agent for the Department Of Homeland Security for K9 training, deployments and operational readiness assessments. Mr. Reda has been the proud recipient of over 50 merits of accommodations and honors including being named the States top K-9 award twice. Mr. Reda has also been named Officer of the Year, Silver cross twice to name a few. Mr. Reda’s expertise has been utilized in many K9 programs throughout the world including presidential details, the pentagon and several other federal programs. Mr. Reda prides himself on treating EVERY client with professionalism and the priority they deserve.
In 1999, Mr. Reda established Superior Tactics under the parent company of "Superior K-9 Services" out of New Milford, CT. This was created out of the necessity to assist agencies that didn't have the resources or expertise to maintain a Police K9 Unit. This was done all while serving as the commanding Sergeant of the canine division of the Norwalk CT Police Department and the regions Head Trainer. Mr. Reda is a firm believer in constantly moving forward and building a superior knowledge base that promotes learning and building experience every day. This work ethic is instilled into all of the company’s personnel.
